Campus Wireless Access

Savannah Technical College offers wireless internet access at the Effingham, Liberty, Crossroads, and Savannah Campuses.

Wireless Networking is available on campus for all Savannah Technical College (STC) students. You will need to connect your mobile device to the SAV-Student wireless network and provide your STC credentials (email username and password) in order to connect.

Instructions:

To access the SAV-Student network:

  1. When prompted or within the network settings on your device, select “SAV-Student” network
  2. Enter your STC credentials (email username and password)  as follows:

 

If you have an Android phone that is version 12.0 or above:

  1. Open settings app
  2. Click on connections
  3. Select Wi-Fi
  4. Select SAV-Student
  5. For Identity input your full savannahtech email address ( example@students.savannahtech.edu)
    • Please make sure to check your spelling
  6. Below Password enter your savannahtech student email password
    • Please make sure to check your spelling
  7. Select CA Certificate and click the option “Don’t validate”
  8. Make sure you uncheck “Auto reconnect”
  9. Click Connect and you should be connected to the Wi-Fi now.

 

If you have an iPhone that is iOS version 15.0 or above:

  1. Go to the settings app
  2. Click on Wi-Fi
  3. Select SAV-Student
  4. For username input your full savannahtech email  (example@students.savannahtech.edu)
    • Please make sure to check your spelling
  5. For password enter your savannahtech student email password
    • Please make sure to check your spelling
  6. Click Trust in the top right corner of your screen – you should now be connected.

 

MacOS version 12 and up

  1. Click the Wireless icon at the top of the screen. If the Wi-Fi is currently off, click Turn Wi-Fi On.
  2. Then, select the intended SSID from the menu (SAV-Student)
  3. The window below should now be open.
  4. In the Mode field select “Automatic”
  5. Enter the username and password of the Cloud4Wi user, in the User name and Password fields respectively.
  6. Select “Join”

 

ChromeOS/ChromeBook version 123 and up

  1. On the taskbar, next to the clock, click the wireless indicator icon.
  2. In the menu that appears, click in the network row (you will either see a network indicator icon or the words “No network” on that row).
  3. Select the network that the Chromebook needs to connect to (SAV-Student)
  4. In the “Join Wi-Fi network” dialog box, set up your connection as follows:
    • EAP method: Select PEAP.
    • Phase 2 authentication: Select MSCHAPv2.
    • Server CA certificate: Select Do not check.
    • For identity input your full savannahtech email  (example@students.savannahtech.edu)
      • Please make sure to check your spelling
    • For password enter your savannahtech student email password
      • Please make sure to check your spelling
    • Anonymous identity: Leave this blank.
  5. Click Connect

 

If you encounter a problem accessing the system with email credentials:

  1. Refer to the instructions above.
  2. A student can verify their email address in Banner Web.
  3. If the student forgot their password, they can click the” Forgot password?” link on the Okta Portal.
  4. If the Forgot password? is not working, they can submit the “Student Technical Support” form on the STC website on the Student’s page.

To access the SAV-Guest network:

  1. When prompted or within the network settings on your device, select “SAV-Guest” network
  2. Open a web browser and accept the User Agreement.
