Problem Solving in Manufacturing

This class presents a six-step problem solving process which includes identifying problems, applying a systematic approach to solving the problem, and following up to ensure that the problem was resolved.

Automation is the replacement of direct human control with electronic devices to control systems, processes, or equipment.

In this class, participants will learn about warehouses, warehouse operations, material handling equipment, inventory, and inventory management It ill also focus on key warehousing jobs; receiving, put-away or locating picking, Material handling, staging, shipping and inventory control.
Protecting Materials and Merchandise
An important consideration for any warehouse or distribution center is protection of the product that is being handled. Just as manufactures design and build special equipment to support and protect the product throughout the manufacturing process, warehouses have devised ways to continue this pecial handling for most products.
Warehousing Data Applications
To successfully meet your customer’s requirements the warehouse must be able to make efficient use of warehouse resources through the proper balance of labor, equipment, space and systems. To successfully balance warehouse resources the system inventory nust accurately reflect the physical inventory, Accuracy can be attained through continuously checking the inventory of through confidence in the system inventory.
Forklift Operator Safety Training Course
The Forklift operator safety course covers safety requirements relating to the design, maintenance and safe use of forklifts. Students will learn safety precautions associated with forklift operations, and demonstrate proper handling and operations of a forklift required by OSHA 1910:178
First Aid/ CPR AED
The AHA First Aid/CPP/AED class certifies the participant in CPR, First Aid, and AED, through the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver program.

Self-Management and Personal Wellness
In this class, participants will learn about managing stress in the workplace, nutrition, wellness, fitness, Financial Literacy, Health and Insurance.
10 Soft Skills You Need
Participants will begin to see how important it is to develop a core set of soft skills. By managing and looking at the way people interact and seeing things in a new light, participants will improve on almost every aspect of their career. Participants will understand how to use soft skills to communicate, problem-solve, and resolve conflict.
The Art of Effective Communication
This course provides manufacturing employees with basic skills and techniques for communicating more effectively in the workplace. The participants learn that many problems in the workplace can be avoided when time is taken and effort is made to listen and
apply the principle s of effective communication. The manner in which they communicate with others affects business relationships and results; there fore, it is important that they understand how to relate to others.
Working Together
Working Together is a team-building and team skills course. The goal of the unit is to enhance participant s’ ability to work together effectively as a team and produce products and services which surpass customer requirements. This highly interactive course explores the four C’s of effective teamwork: communication, cooperation, consideration, and commitment. Participants are introduced to skills necessary to ensure accomplishment of goals within a specific work group
Building & Completing Your Resume
Positive Image
The purpose of this unit is to enable participants to realize the importance of personal image and how it affects their lives. The course offers steps to achieve the goal of “Being the Best that You Can Be.”
OSHA 10 -hour
This class provides an overview of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and covers many of the 29 CFR 1910 OSHA General Industry Regulations. The training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention. The training also covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter.
Math and Measurement
All jobs require some knowledge of mathematics. Counting items received, adding and deleting inventory, estimating the amount of space required to store merchandise, interpreting productivity charts, and determining shipping costs all require math skills.
Social Intelligence
This class is about understanding your environment and having a positive influence. Participants will become more confident in their social situations by learning how to express and interrupt social cues. They will create positive connections and increase their influence during social situations.
WorkSource Coastal Funding
The state of Georgia is required under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to report performance data on all students who participant in a program of study approved by WorkSource Georgia and listed on the State’s Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) including students who are not WIOA participants.
