Proof of Georgia Residency
All students are coded as out-of-state and must prove residency for previous 12 consecutive months to qualify for in-state tuition rate. Documentation for in-state tuition rate includes:
- A State of Georgia issued ID (issued at least 12 months prior)
- A current Military Issued ID card
- A student (or parent for dependent student) prior-year Georgia Tax Form 500
- Notarized letter on company letterhead indicating lease status\agreement
- Utility statement listing a full 12 months of charges
- FAFSA form
MILITARY IN-STATE TUITION RATE: Active duty and full-time members of the Armed Forces of the United States, including members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard are eligible for in-state tuition. Commissioned officers of the Public Health Service or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on active duty are also eligible for the in-state tuition rate.
JASPER/BEAUFORT COUNTY RESIDENT IN-STATE TUITION RATE: Residents of Beaufort and Jasper Counties in South Carolina are eligible for a waiver of out-of-state fees. Waiver must be requested and proof of residency documents presented. These residents pay a $150/semester reciprocity student fee.
FREE TUITION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS: Georgia senior citizens (with proof of age 62 or older and residency) may be eligible for a waiver of tuition on credit enrollment on a space available basis. Senior citizens must pay mandatory fees and purchase books, tools and uniforms based on class/program-specific requirements. Seniors may register for class on the first day of the semester based on space available.
