#1256| March 2, 2012

SAVANNAH – For the ninth consecutive year, Savannah Technical College has received national recognition for its marketing efforts, winning a Gold Award in the 27th Annual Educational Advertising Awards for its “I am Tourism” promotional video. Four related commercials also received Awards of Merit in the competition.

The “I am Tourism” campaign focuses on testimonials from local and regional tourism leaders touting the value of education and the advantages of a career in the hospitality industry. “The tourism industry brings millions of dollars to our regional economy every year and improves the quality of life for all of us,” said STC Marketing and Hospitality Department Head Brendan Ferrara. “This campaign helps reinforce this as an excellent career choice.”

The same video won a Silver ADDY award at this year’s American Advertising Federation local ADDY awards, sponsored by AAF Savannah.

Credits for the video include: Gail Eubanks, creative director; Aaron Gravits, producer; Darryl E. Van Horne, composer; Jason Osterday, videographer; and Bob Jones, photography.
