STC Peace Officer Academy Moves to Crossroads Campus
Academy now offers POST-credit in-service training classes

SAVANNAH – The Savannah Technical College Peace Officer Academy has relocated to STC’s Crossroads Campus in Pooler, Ga. The new POA location has a Fire Arms Training Simulator, two dedicated classrooms and an administrative office.
The POA is also now offering continuing-education or in-service training classes for certified Georgia Peace Officers with three Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) credit courses from 8 A.M. until 5 P.M. on the days listed:

The POA’s first class of 2012 begins on January 17, 2012. While the deadline for this cohort has passed, interested candidates may start the process for the spring course.
The Basic Law Enforcement Technical Certificate of Credit provides students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to become competent law enforcement officers. The 18-week cohort program utilizes classroom instruction pertaining to criminal justice theory and the prevailing principles of modern law enforcement, as well as practical application of pertinent enforcement skills.College coursework contains the entire Georgia POST Basic Law Enforcement Training Course. Successful completion of the program will qualify the student to be a state-certified peace officer.
