Savannah Tech to offer Personal Trainer Certification Course

SAVANNAH – Savannah Technical College Professional Continuing Education Division has partnered with the World Instructor Training School (W.I.T.S) to offer a Personal Trainer Certification Course. Participants in this course will receive a combination of lecture and hands-on practical training. Key topics for the course include exercise physiology, biomechanics, fitness testing, equipment usage, and more.

The course also counts as approved continuing education credits for massage therapists, athletic trainers and occupational therapists. In order to receive this national certificate, students must successfully pass the course, as well as complete a 30-hour internship and obtain CPR and AED certification.

The Personal Trainer Certification Course will run for eight weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning October 11 at the college’s Crossroads Campus (190 Crossroads Parkway, Savannah, 31407).  Cost for the class is $749. The Professional Continuing Education Department provides short-term classes in both the traditional and online classroom setting. Courses cover a variety of skills and workforce development options that match local employer’s needs.
