New agreement allows for transfer of more courses between Technical College System of Georgia and University System of Georgia institutions

SAVANNAH — Georgia college students now have greater flexibility and transferability between the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and the University System of Georgia (USG) colleges and universities. this month, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia approved an additional 17 courses acceptable for transfer, bringing the total number of General Studies courses that students can transfer to twenty-seven.

Says Savannah Tech President Dr. Kathy S. Love, ” I am thrilled that the Board of Regents has expanded the number of general education courses taught at the Technical College System of Georgia institutions which will transfer to our University System of Georgia partners. This is a huge step toward Georgia truly having a seamless educational system and will certainly help us meet Governor Deal’s Complete College Georgia challenge.”

For local students and their families, it means that they can now take more courses at Savannah Technical College with the assurance that the courses included in this agreement will transfer to USG universities such as Savannah State, Armstrong Atlantic and Georgia Southern.
