Honor Society Induction Ceremony, April 26 6 pm, Eckburg Auditorium
41 students join the Beta Xi Tau chapter of Phi Theta Kappa
SAVANNAH – On April 26 at 6:00 p.m., Savannah Technical College will induct forty one students into the Beta Xi Tau chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for community college students. This marks the chapter’s seventh such ceremony and will bring its total membership to 220 students and alumni. The event will be held in the Eckburg Auditorium on the college’s Savannah Campus, 5717 White Bluff Road. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.

The Beta Xi Tau chapter of Phi Theta Kappa was formed in July 2005, with twenty nine members. Tom Thompson, department head and instructor of Accounting is the group’s contact advisor along with faculty members Susan Presley, Anthony Adams, and Jim Burch. They will conduct the induction ceremony along with Nikki Avie, chapter president, Savannah Campus and Robert Rego, chapter President, Liberty Campus.
The Induction Ceremony will feature remarks by Dr. Anne Thompson, Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty, Armstrong Atlantic State University and music by the Forsyth Ensemble. The event is free and open to the public.
