Fletcher selected as Executive Director for Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant

fletcher headshotSAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah Technical College has selected Keith Fletcher to lead the Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant as executive director.

“We are excited to lead this statewide initiative,” said STC Vice President of Economic Development Dr. Brent Stubbs. “We believe Keith will be an invaluable member of our team as this project combines creativity and technology – two of his strengths.”

Fletcher previously was a Vice President at KRF Associates to help startup technology companies with formation, business plans. He is the originator and driving force behind the Savannah Logistics Technology Corridor, one of the more important economic development projects in the State of Georgia. He has been a C-level executive with multinational corporations for the past 30 years, Lowe Enterprises (8,500 employees and $8 Billion under management), CurtCo media labs (50 major publications globally) for a few. He was also Director of Global Telecommunications and Far East IT for Phillips Van-Heusen. He has an extensive skill set encompassing both technology and operations. He serves on the boards of a number of Savannah based startups.

The “Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grants” aim to address the skill development needs of employers and to support workers in gaining skills and transition quickly from unemployment to employment. The grants also build the capacity of community and technical colleges to address challenges associated with the Coronavirus pandemic, such as expanding online and technology-enabled learning.

Savannah Technical College was selected as the grantee for the award. The College has taken the lead working with other TCSG colleges to build systems that will significantly upgrade online learning environments, streamline curriculum, expand credentialing and integrate augmented virtual reality learning experiences.
