Required maintenance of machinery is vital to the production of manufactured goods. Those employed as industrial systems technologists are trained in fluid power, programmable logic controls, electricity, mechanics and other specified areas of machine functionality.

Savannah Tech will offer a new Automation and Robotics Technology degree to prepare graduates for a career as an advanced manufacturing maintenance repair technician and engineering technologist starting in Fall 2024.

Honoring Excellence
Industrial Maintenance Systems student Devin Bass was named Savannah Tech’s 2020 GOAL Student of the Year. He is a manufacturing apprentice with JCB North America and U.S. Army veteran.
JCB North America recently welcomed its newest group of nine Manufacturing Skills Apprentices. This ever-expanding apprenticeship program began in 2011.

Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) selected Savannah Tech for underwater robotics training for competition thanks to funding from a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant. The College is one of two community and technical colleges in the U.S. selected to participate in the first cohort that will compete in the brand-new level for MATE Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Competition.
