Savannah Technical College Prioritizes Safety with Extended Remote Operations Due to Winter Weather

STC Savannah Campus with snow(SAVANNAH, Ga.) Savannah Technical College, the leading regional provider of career-ready technical education in Coastal Georgia, will extend remote operations through the remainder of the week for campuses in Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties.

“While the sight of snow on our campuses is certainly beautiful and a rare occurrence in Southeast Georgia, the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff is our absolute priority,” said Dr. Ryan Foley, President of Savannah Technical College. “By transitioning to remote operations, they can stay warm and safe at home while minimizing disruption to their educational journeys and professional development.”

The College recognizes the expertise of these agencies, acknowledging the extensive training and continued education that underpins their work. Many of Savannah Tech’s programs equip students with the training and skills needed for high-demand careers in healthcare, public safety and other critical fields. These programs include Emergency Medical Services (EMS) – EMT, AEMT and Paramedicine – as well as Associate of Science in Nursing, Fire Science and Law Enforcement.

“We are incredibly grateful for the tireless efforts of all first responders across the region who are working around the clock to keep our communities safe during this time,” Dr. Foley added. “Many of our graduates are among these dedicated professionals and it is inspiring to witness the impact of their training and the selfless service they provide to our community.”
