Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
Savannah Technical College, as well as Federal and State regulations, require that students meet certain academic standards to remain in good academic standing and keep their financial aid. It is the student’s responsibility to know and understand these requirements.
Academic Standards
Students must meet the following requirements to maintain financial aid eligibility:
- Maintain an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 within the program of study
- Maintain an overall completion rate of 66.6% within the program of study
- Complete the program within 150% of the maximum timeframe allowed for the program of study

Keeping Your Financial Aid
Keeping your financial aid is an important part of completing your program of study. Below are helpful tips to help maintain eligibility and stay on track toward graduation.
- Complete the FAFSA each year after taxes are filed
- Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to reduce errors and verification selection
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress requirements
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA within your program of study
- Maintain a 66.6% completion rate within your program of study
- Complete your program within the 150% maximum timeframe
- Meet Georgia HOPE Grant and HOPE Scholarship requirements
- Notify Student Affairs of any changes to your address, phone number, or email
- Check your Savannah Tech student email regularly
- Review your financial aid status through Banner Web Self-Service
