Academic Status
Academic status provides students with information about their current academic performance based on a 4.0 GPA scale. Students are expected to meet established academic standards to remain in good standing.
Academic Standing Levels
Good Academic Standing
Students with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Academic Warning
Students whose GPA falls below 2.0.
Academic Suspension
Students on academic warning who do not improve to a 2.0 GPA may be suspended and dismissed from the College.
Re-Admission After Suspension
Students wishing to return must:
- Schedule an appointment with the Academic Dean
- Complete an academic improvement plan
- Receive approval for reinstatement
The Academic Dean may require:
- Reduced course load
- Tutoring or study support
- Adjusted work hours
Appeal Process
Students may appeal suspension by:
- Submitting a written appeal
- Meeting with the Academic Dean
If approved, suspension may be lifted for one semester. Further appeals may be made to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Note: Academic suspension will appear on the student transcript.
