Graduation & Commencement
Congratulations! Your program completion is within reach—it’s time to apply for graduation. We’re proud of your achievements and excited to celebrate this milestone with you.
To be eligible for a degree, diploma, or technical certificate of credit, students must:
- Complete all admission requirements (regular admit)
- Complete all required courses in the program of study
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (or 2.0 adjusted GPA)
- Complete at least 25% of program coursework at Savannah Technical College
- Have an official high school transcript or GED on file (if required)
- Satisfy all financial obligations to the College
- Obtain a Graduation Application Form
- Meet with your academic or faculty advisor and complete your graduation application
- You are responsible for submitting your graduation application to the Registrar’s office
Note: A graduation application is required—awards are not issued automatically.
- Course substitutions must be approved by the Vice President of Academic Affairs and align with the state approved curriculum
- Adjusted GPA calculations may be used when necessary
- If a course is repeated, the highest grade will determine graduation eligibility
- The Registrar reviews all applications and verifies completion requirements
- Students will be notified if requirements are not met
- Students must reapply for graduation if requirements are incomplete
Students who achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher will graduate with honors.
- Recognized in the commencement program
- Receive an honor cord/stole
- Must meet all course requirements for eligibility
Students returning after being away for one or more semesters must meet the requirements of the current program of study.
If a previously enrolled program is no longer offered, students must select a current program and complete all requirements for that program.
Students planning to complete coursework at another institution must:
- Contact the Registrar’s Office at Savannah Technical College
- Meet the requirements of the current program of study
- Submit course descriptions for approval
Note: Transfer credit is awarded only for equivalent courses.
