Industrial Systems to host open house at Liberty Campus

Hinesville, Ga. – The Industrial Systems program will host an open house at the Savannah Technical College Liberty Campus from 9 a.m., until 2 p.m. on July 26. The campus is located at 100 Technology Drive in Hinesville, 31313.

Industrial Systems is a perfect career for those interested in tinkering with and maintaining machinery, or producing and manufacturing with your hands. Georgia employment in this field, which is also called Industrial Maintenance, is expected to grow by eight percent during the next decade. Savannah Technical College offers the program at the Liberty and Savannah campuses.

Students learn skills in several areas, including electronics, industrial wiring, motors, controls, PLCs (program logic controllers), instrumentation, fluid power, mechanical, pumps and piping, and computers. Virtually any manufacturing industry in Georgia, including automotive, carpet, flooring, beverage, pharmaceuticals, and heavy equipment, has a constant demand for this type of skilled technician. For graduation rates, the median debt of students who completed the program, etc. visit www.savannahtech.edu.

As one of the strategic industries in Georgia, diploma students who qualify for the HOPE Grant and are enrolled in Industrial Systems, may be eligible for the Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant (SIWDG) to receive additional financial aid.
