To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have at least a 3.5 GPA and have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours (or full-time) for that semester. Tanaja Felton Dual Enrollment Surgical Tech studentTanaja Felton is STC’s first dual enrollment Surgical Technology student. She is a senior at South Effingham High School, who has attended the STEM Academy at the Effingham County College & Career Academy and Savannah Technical College. This is her second year at Savannah Tech. She enjoys the fast pace of the operating room and plans to continue her education after graduation to be a surgeon (general or cardiac).

Felton said she could not have done any of this on her own. “I have been guided by my parents my whole life to follow the plans God has for me, which is why everything has worked out perfectly for me to accelerate my education early,” she said.

She is on track to complete STC’s Surgical Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree in Summer 2025 – months after she graduates from high school. She was recently inducted into STC’s chapter of National Technical Honor Society.
