Cosmetology student Doria Sanders has been selected as the 2024 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner for Savannah Technical College. She is the president of STC’s Student Government Association and a member of the National Technical Honor Society and Phi Theta Kappa chapters.
Savannah Technical College’s Culinary Arts Instructor Chef Alex Lewis has been selected as STC’s 2024 Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year. Chef Lewis is a lead Culinary Arts instructor, who began teaching with Savannah Tech in 2015 and brings a wealth of restaurant and hospitality experience to her students.
Charmaine White has been selected as the 2024 Savannah Technical College Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) recipient. She is a Career Plus High School (CPH) student, who earned a CNA license in Spring 2023. She is enrolled in Patient Care Technician classes for her second technical certificate of credit.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. will be honored at the 19th annual Opportunity Award Gala on March 28, 2024. The event, hosted by the Savannah Technical College Foundation, honors deserving leaders in the local community for a lifetime of service in creating and enhancing opportunities for others to succeed.
Savannah Technical College recognized 358 students for excellence in academics for the Fall 2023 Dean’s List. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have at least a 3.5 GPA and have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours (or full-time) for that semester. These students represent 28.3% of the full-time students for Fall 2023.
Twenty students from the Savannah Technical College Practical Nursing cohorts celebrated graduation with a recent ceremony. Ten of these graduates have jobs, and others are in the process of securing employment. This graduating class includes STC’s first night cohort for Practical Nursing along with daytime students.
Congratulations to the Baking & Pastry Arts Wedding Cake Finals winners for Fall 2023. The top scoring (1st place in middle) wedding cake ranked by community judges was created by Christine Barratta. Wedding cake class was led by Chef Jackie. Nicole McEwen (cake far left) won second and Megan Allen (cake far right) won third. Designers of these top cakes received prizes.
