Leadership from Sewon America and Savannah Technical College (STC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a training partnership at the College’s Effingham Campus (2890 Hwy 21 South, Rincon, GA 31326). The training partnership MOU will include credit and non-credit training programs.

Savannah Technical College recognized 358 students for excellence in academics for the Spring 2023 Dean’s List. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have at least a 3.5 GPA and have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours (or full-time) for that semester. These students represent 30.5% of the full-time students for spring semester 2023.

Leadership from Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) and Savannah Technical College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a training partnership today. HMGMA CEO/President Oscar Kwon and STC President Dr. Kathy Love signed the MOU followed by a champagne toast for attendees.

Savannah Technical College Cosmetology students hosted a hair show at the Effingham Campus this week. This annual event provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills and creativity for family, friends, and the community. This year’s theme was masquerade.

Twelve students from the Savannah Technical College Peace Officer Academy celebrated graduating from the program with completion ceremony on April 20, 2023. Eleven of these graduates have been hired by area police departments. STC’s Peace Officer Academy has a 100% placement rate (AY21).

Savannah Technical College won six gold, one silver, and three merit for national marketing and advertising competitions for work completed in 2022. Awards were presented by Collegiate Advertising Awards and the 38th Educational Advertising Awards.

Savannah Technical College has selected Mr. Tal Loos as its Vice President of Economic Development. He was most recently the Aviation Division dean at the College. He will plan, administer and evaluate economic development services to include supervision and leadership in the activities of personnel as related to economic development. He will also maintain his leadership role with STC’s Aviation Division and Aviation Training Center.

Savannah Technical College was recognized for excellence at the Georgia 2023 SkillsUSA Post-secondary State Conference. Students won medals in 14 competitions: seven gold, four silver, and three bronze.

Savannah Technical College will host an interactive event led by Savannah Culinary Institute instructors with hands-on demonstrations paired with wines, known as Bistro Savoir Interactif, at 5:45 p.m., on Thursday, March 23 in the Eckburg Auditorium (5717 White Bluff Road, Savannah, 31405).
