Savannah Technical College, the leading regional provider of career-ready technical education in Coastal Georgia, will extend remote operations through the remainder of the week for campuses in Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties.

Savannah Technical College, the leading regional provider of career-ready technical education in Coastal Georgia, will transition to virtual learning for students and remote work for employees on Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 22 due to the anticipated severe winter weather conditions in the region.

Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) will be honored at the 20th annual Opportunity Award Gala, Thursday, April 3, 2025. The event, hosted by the Savannah Technical College Foundation, honors deserving leaders and businesses in the local community for a lifetime of service in creating and enhancing opportunities for others to succeed.

Savannah Technical College has selected Jovena Anne Velose Michel as its 2025 Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) recipient. Her inspiring journey of perseverance and dedication reflects the mission of STC’s Adult Education program, which empowers students to achieve their educational and professional goals.

Savannah Technical College has selected Kameron Vincent as its 2025 Adult Education Instructor of the Year. A dedicated and innovative ESL instructor, Vincent exemplifies the transformative power of education and the profound impact one teacher can have on an entire community.

Savannah Technical College recognized 384 students for academic excellence on the Fall 2024 Dean’s List. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have at least a 3.5 GPA and have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours (or full-time) for that semester. These students represent 27% of the full-time students for Fall 2024.

Twenty-one students from the Savannah Technical College Peace Officer Academy celebrated graduating from the program with a ceremony today. These graduates have completed coursework containing the entire Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) Basic Law Enforcement Training Course. Their successful completion of the program qualifies them to be state-certified peace officers. Nineteen of these graduates have been hired by area police departments.

Twenty-two transitioning service members celebrated their graduation today from the Heroes MAKE America (HMA) program, an initiative of the Manufacturing Institute. These graduates completed an intensive eight-week program at the Fort Stewart Education Center in partnership with Savannah Technical College.

Savannah Technical College selected Vinh Pham as its 2024 Alumni of the Year. An Aviation graduate, Pham’s inspiring journey from Vietnam to becoming an Airworthiness Inspector at Gulfstream highlights the transformative power of technical education and determination.

Savannah Technical College was ranked as #104 overall in the United States by Military Times Best for Vets. The College was ranked #6 in Georgia, #26 in the Southeast, #71 for Primarily in-person, and #81 as a public institution.
