HOPE Career Grant

Students, who are eligible for or receive HOPE Grant funding and are enrolled in one of the following programs of study, may also be eligible for funding from the HOPE Career Grant (formerly Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant). A student’s HOPE Career Grant award is a fixed amount per term based upon the student’s program of study and number of hours of enrollment.

Students will automatically qualify for the HOPE Career Grant Award (Formerly Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant) if they meet these three criteria:

  • Regular student fully admitted to a TCSG institution
  • Enrolled in one of the above programs
  • Receiving the HOPE Grant in that same term

Students enrolled in 9+ credits receive $500; 3-8 credits receive $250; and 1-2 credits receive $125.

Commercial Truck Driving HOPE Career Grant

Commercial Truck Driving HOPE Career Grant is awarded based on the number of hours of enrollment, not to exceed $1,100.00 per truck driving program. Students enrolled in the full 9 credit hours receive $1,100; students enrolled in 6-8 credits receive $733; and 3 credits receive $366. A student may only receive the $1,100 Hope Career Grant for Commercial Truck Driving one time.

Dual Enrollment:

Age Limit

  1. A student cannot be older than twenty-one (21) years of age on the start date of the post-secondary term of enrollment for which funding is sought.
  2. A student who reaches twenty-one (21) years of age during the post-secondary term, may complete the term. Institution and abide by the all policies and procedures required by the college.

The HOPE Grant is an award given to Georgia residents enrolled in a certificate or diploma program at a TCSG institution. The qualifying GPA for the HOPE Grant is 2.0. Click here for a complete list of state approved programs.
