What is Adult Education?

The Adult Education program provides assistance to those individuals who have not completed high school and are willing to gain the knowledge and skills required to prepare for the high school equivalency (HiSET) or General Education Development (GED) exam. In addition, TCSG offers a workforce-based solution to high school equivalency (HSE) through joint enrollment, known as Career Plus HSE. Residents of Georgia aged 18 and older, who do not have a high school diploma, can complete basic education without taking a high-stakes test. Moreover, TCSG provides Fast Forward, which allows students to combine high school equivalency (HiSET)/GED courses with career training.

We are committed to helping you complete what you started. By enrolling in our FREE classes, you will be on your way to the finish line! Once you pass the GED exams, we will assist you in determining your next steps. Whether you choose to continue your education here at Savannah Technical College, join another institute, or enter the workforce, we will be here to support you throughout the journey. The decision is entirely up to you!

Proof of withdrawal, letter of non enrollment, or home-school affidavit Complete Underage Approval Form with guardian and witness signature

Steps to Enroll

  1. Contact Transition Specialist: 912-443-5344 to ask about GED options.
  2. Enroll in GED-prep classes.
  3. Complete your financial aid application (Click Here)
  4. Complete the STC Admissions process (online application) along with the $25 fee
  5. Finalize your financial aid
  6. Select career training and enroll in your college classes
  7. Maintain enrollment in Adult Education and your college program until you complete your Adult Education program.
  8. Complete your college program.
