STC Foundation celebrates 2012 Tribute to Community STARS

#1265 | April 6, 2012

SAVANNAH – A crowd of more than 250 gathered in the Eckburg Auditorium on the campus of Savannah Technical College today to celebrate the 2012 Tribute to Community STARS luncheon, an annual event recognizing people for their service and dedication in the community or at work. They are business owners, executives, doctors, and non-profit leaders. While their professional accomplishments are impressive, the work they do beyond their job descriptions evokes awe.

A new scholarship was announced at the event, which was named in honor of Chef Jean Vendeville, Savannah Tech’s Culinary Arts Institute department head and the College’s 2012 instructor of the year. The scholarship, funded by philanthropist Dick Eckburg, will support two exemplary culinary arts students for two years.
