Savannah Technical College Academy

Career Plus High School Diploma (or CPH) is an accredited high school diploma program where students can earn their high school diploma and earn high-demand workforce skills. We offer free, asynchronous, and online high school courses as well as a wide array of college programs. Students get one-on-one support to earn a high school diploma and at least two college certificates, thus providing a launching pad for lives and careers.

ADMISSION

Steps join the CPH program:

  1. Attend Registration and take the TABE placement test. In order to get started, students must complete this inquiry form.
  2. Earn at least a 478M and above in Reading and a 470M and above in Math on the TABE placement test.
  3. Upon earning the eligible scores, students can submit any accredited high / home school transcripts.
  4. Transcripts are then evaluated for credit by the CPH Coordinator and STC Registrar.
  5. Students then meet with the CPH Coordinator to discuss a plan to complete the high school classes and college certificates. After the student confirms their plan and desire to join CPH, they are then directly admitted into the program.
Admissions Requirements:
  1. Students must be 18+. Those between the ages of 18 and 21 can have only 5 or less high school credits completed.
  2. CPH students are Adult Education students, meaning they must enroll as an Adult Education student and attend Registration. Students must complete the TABE M Reading and Math Assessments provided at Registration. The minimum eligible scores to join CPH are 478M+ for Reading and 470M+ for Math. 478M to 500M for Reading and 470M to 496M for Math are considered scores under “Provisional Acceptance.” If students are in the “Provisional Acceptance” range, they can substitute the score(s) with:
    1. A passed GED test in the section with the provisional score
    2. Already having the full 2.0 credits from high school transcript in area with provisional score
    3. Post-test TABE score in full admittance range to replace provisional score
    4. Completing the 2.0 credits worth of class in Blackboard courses in area of provisional score (all level 49 must be completed first).
  3. Students can submit a signed/dated copy of their accredited high school/ home school transcript for high school transfer credit.
  4. Students must be a Georgia resident for the last 12 months and a U.S. citizen.
  5. Students must be officially withdrawn from high school.
To graduate from the Savannah Technical College Academy and earn the high school diploma, students must:
  1. Complete 9 high school credits (2.0 credits in Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. 1.0 credit in Health/Physical Education).
  2. Complete two college certificates, a college diploma, or an associate’s degree.
    • Both components are mandatory to complete to earn a high school diploma in the program.
  3. Savannah Technical College Academy is an official, accredited, virtual high school operating within Savannah Technical College.

    The Savannah Technical College/CGTC Academy is accredited by Cognia through the NCA CASI, NWAC and SACS CASI. Accreditation awarded April 2025. Valid through April 2031.

    Funding information: CPH is funded through federal and state funds. For students, the high school portion (Level 49) is completely free through Adult Education funding. The college portion does require tuition to be paid, but is low-cost via the HOPE Grant, HOPE Career Grant, and exclusive scholarships. Please reach out to the CPH Coordinator for further details.

    FAQ:

    How long does the program take to complete? Time to complete depends on how many high school credits the student needs and which two college certificates the student chooses. On average, the program takes 3-4 semesters to complete.

    Can I take college classes online or in the evenings? Each program has a different course schedule, but STC strives to provide flexible class availability in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings, as well as providing online, in-person, and hybrid classes.
