Emergency Assistance Fund
At Savannah Technical College (STC) we realize that an emergency can happen at any time. The college has created a one-time financial assistance fund for currently enrolled students who experience unexpected, unforeseen, and/or unavoidable emergency expenses that directly impact or jeopardize continued enrollment at the college. Funding is limited and awarded amounts will vary as it depends on students’ individual financial need.
A student with an immediate need must complete an Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF) form and provide documentation to Ms. Wendi Gowans, STC Student Navigator. Currently only a paper application is available.
The fund is intended to address specific temporary circumstances students may be facing such as:
- Short of Tuition total
- college or course fees
- Textbook and/or code purchase
- Uniform
- Short of Program kit (COSM, WELD, etc.) total
- Gas
- Food
Participant Criteria:
- Currently enrolled students
- Should be in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
- Complete an Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF) Form
- Submit information and/or documentation (with the EAF application) explaining how the need constitutes an emergency
- Provide any supporting documentation to prove the need (i.e. quote/estimate, voided receipts, bills, lease, etc.) to wgowan@savannahtech.edu.
- Should have not received financial assistance from the Emergency Assistance Fund within the past academic year.
*Dual Enrollment students are not eligible for this fund.
**It may take 72-96 hours for an application to be processed once it is received into Ms. Gowans’ office.
