Savannah Tech celebrates Constitution Day

Constitution Day is September 17th

Commemorating the Constitution

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day are observed each year on September 17 to commemorate the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787, and “recognize all who, by coming of age or by naturalization, have become citizens.” In 2004, through Senator Robert C. Byrd’s leadership, Congress included key provisions in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of Fiscal Year 2005, requiring public schools and government agencies to provide educational programs to promote a better understanding of the Constitution. (Public Law 108-477)
