Question: When can I take the road test?
Answer: You must hold your CLP for 14 days before being eligible to test.
Question: Can I use the paper copy of my CLP to test?
Answer: Yes, however, the paper copy is only valid for testing for the first 30 days.
Question: How far in advance should I schedule my test?
Answer: Please select a date that is at least 10 days in the future to allow adequate time for us to process your request and receive authorization from DDS to conduct your test.
Question: I don’t live in Georgia. Can you provide a test to an out of state resident?
Answer: No, you must be a Georgia resident and hold a valid Georgia Driver License and CLP.
Question: I have my permit, but it was issued after February 6th 2022.
Answer: You will not be allowed to take a test until you complete an approved training program that meets the requirements for Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT)
Refund policy and Cancellations
CDL Road Tests must be cancelled at least 48 hours before the scheduled road test. Road tests cancelled less than 48 hours before the scheduled test are non-refundable.
When can I take the road test?
First time testers need to register at least 7 days in advance. This means after you make your payment, and complete the online registration paperwork, you should select a road test appointment slot that is at least 1 week in the future.
I have a paper copy of my CDL permit. Can I use that for the road test?
When you go to DDS and get your permit issued, you will receive a paper copy. The paper copy that you receive from DDS. Is only valid for testing only for 30 days after issuance. Once the 30 days has passed, you will need to present your Learner’s permit.
I don’t live in Georgia. Can you provide a road test to an out-of-state resident?
We cannot provide a third-party road test to out-of-state residents. They must be a resident of the state of Georgia. Must have a Georgia Driver’s license and have held their CDL Permit for 14 days before becoming eligible to test.
