Campbell selected as Commercial Truck Driving Department Head
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah Technical College has selected Tommy Campbell as its department head for Commercial Truck Driving. As department head, he will teach students in the classroom, driving range and over-the-road environments. He will also advise students, supervise faculty and perform various departmental and college-wide assignments.
He has 25 years of commercial truck driving experience with more than 2.2 million accident-free miles. He has taught commercial truck driving for seven years. He earned an associate of applied science in criminal justice from Fayetteville Technical Community College.
Commercial Truck Driving is one of Georgia’s high demand jobs that qualify for the HOPE Career Grant, receiving an additional $1,000. The HOPE Grant offers CTDL students $684, reducing their total out-of-pocket expense to $260, which includes tuition/fees/CDL testing. The next Commercial Truck Driving class begins June 1 at both Effingham and Liberty campus locations.
New students interested in enrolling in Commercial Truck Driving must be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age for interstate travel).
