Business Technology

The Business Technology programs is designed to prepare graduates for employment in a variety of positions in today’s technology-driven work environment.

Project management, office and administrative support supervisors and managers plan or supervise support staff to ensure that they can work efficiently. After allocating work assignments and issuing deadlines, office and administrative support supervisors and managers oversee the work to ensure that it is proceeding on schedule and meeting established quality standards.

Employment of office and administrative support supervisors and managers is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations. Continuing advances in technology should increase office and administrative support workers’ productivity and allow a wider variety of tasks to be performed by people in professional positions.

This program has a business administration or medical front office specialization option.

The College offers an associate degree, diploma or TCCs (Medical Front Office Assistant, Microsoft Office Application Professional).

Legal Administrative Assistant (NEW TCC in 2023): Combine Business Technology courses (Financial Accounting, Office Accounting, Legal Terminology) and Paralegal courses (Introduction to Law and Ethics) to prepare student for immediate employment as entry-level office assistants in law offices and government and corporate legal departments. The 30 credit hour program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for success in legal offices as receptionists and as office assistants and prepares students in the areas of legal office etiquette, word processing, English grammar, and legal document preparation. Students who complete the certificate should acquire the skills and knowledge to successfully sit for the Professional Legal Secretary certification exam.
