Air Conditioning

Particularly in the South, you know how valuable your central heating and air conditioning are to the comfort of your home. Air conditioning technicians are in great demand.  According to the U.S. Department of Labor, during the next decade, job growth in the industry is expected to grow at 14% – faster than the average for all occupations.  The median pay in 2014 for mechanics and installers was $44,630 per year with 292,000 jobs. Graduates of the Air Conditioning Technology Program are preferred by employers over those who have no post secondary education.

Program graduates are trained in everything from heating and air conditioning to refrigeration, ventilation, and humidity control for all types of buildings—often referred to throughout industry as HVACR.

The program is also part of the sustainable technology movement at Savannah Technical College and is available for Learning Community opportunities with a number of courses and dedicated tutors, ask for details.
