Institutional Effectiveness

Savannah Technical College maintains its commitment to continuous quality improvement through its Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE).

Savannah Technical College is committed to enhancing student success and providing quality programs and services. Planning, evaluating, and assessing are the keys for identifying and documenting the college’s level of quality and also for accountability measures to the public, the legislature, and college and program accrediting agencies, especially the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Commission on Colleges.

Institutional Effectiveness (IE) is an integral part of Savannah Technical College’s quest for continuous improvement of programs, administrative, and educational support functions. The college recognizes the need for planning and assessing and is committed to the process. This process has been developed to emphasize a participative approach, allowing for broad-based input of ideas and information as well as group decision-making in order to achieve the mission and goals of the college.

The OIE leads the college’s assessment and quality improvement initiatives, including the re-accreditation visit by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the accompanying Quality Enhancement Plan, the ongoing participation in the Georgia Oglethorpe Award process, and a recent audit by the State Office of Civil Rights. It is also responsible for college-wide strategic planning, data management, and reporting for key performance indicators.
