Support Military-Affiliated Students

Savannah Technical College has a proud tradition of supporting our soldiers, veterans and their families. Nearly one in four students at Savannah Tech is a military affiliation whether active duty, veteran or military spouse.

  • We consistently have the highest percentage of military-affiliated enrollment among the state’s 22 colleges in the Technical College System of Georgia.
  • For the past five years, we have ranked in the top five two-year public colleges in the country as Best for Vets.
  • We have a dedicated staff member to help guide these students to higher education and make certain that they feel a part of the campus community. As the only in-state institution currently on-site at the Army Education Center at Ft. Stewart, we work hard to deliver services to our military students and their families.
  • The STC Foundation has assisted students with tuition and fees not covered by VA or MyCAA funding; provided funds to help with books and tools; covered licensure testing fees for students pursuing FAA-certification as A&P mechanics and more.

During the past four years, the Savannah Technical College Foundation has awarded nearly $150,000 in privately funded scholarship funds to deserving students through the Freedom Fund.

Due to the tremendous demand for “gap” funding among our military students, our funds are nearly depleted. We appreciate your support of military scholarships at Savannah Technical College.

Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, and pre-approved academic-related supplies purchased at the Savannah Technical College Campus Shop only. Scholarship funds will not be distributed directly to the student. This means students receiving refunds from the College will not be eligible for scholarships. Transient students are not eligible to receive STC Foundation scholarships.

Privately-funded scholarships are awarded based on criteria established by each of the donors. Any restrictions (age, race, gender, program of study, required hours, GPA, etc.) are included by specific request of the donor and are explicitly tied to the funds received for awards.
