Hobbs selected as Automotive Technology Department Head

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah Technical College has selected Anthony Hobbs as its Department Head for Automotive Technology. In this role, Hobbs is responsible for oversight of all instruction, curriculum development, administrative and budgetary aspects for the College’s Automotive Technology program.

Hobbs has worked an instructor in STC’s Automotive Technology program since 2009, previously at the Liberty Campus. His certifications include: ASE Master Technician, Chrysler Master Technician/Gold Service Manager, Nissan Certified Service Manager, Suzuki Certified Master Technician, Acura Certified Service Manager and Hyundai Certified Service Manager/Parts Manager/Warranty Administrator. He was the service and parts director at Hilton Head Hyundai for five years. He also worked as the service and parts director at Hilton Head Chrysler Jeep Dodge and was the service manager at Southern Motors Acura and Raley Motors. He also worked more than a decade as an automotive technician including lead technician and shop foreman.

Automotive Technology graduates are trained to hold positions in the automotive service and repair industry as service technicians, inspectors and maintenance and repair mechanics. The program emphasizes a combination of automotive mechanics theory and practical application necessary for successful employment.
