Advisory Committees Each Savannah Technical College program requires an advisory committee of industry professionals contribute to the planning, reviewing and modeling of industry standards to the programs.  This gives students an advantage to high quality industry standards.  The Student Activities Council supports this Student-Centered project. Savannah Tech Junior Chefs Association The Savannah Chefs Association Junior Chapter promotes professionalism and continuing education for students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program. All Savannah Technical College Culinary Arts students are eligible for membership. Membership is on a voluntary basis and requires payment of dues in the national organization. Club
Barbering The Barbering Club promotes professional development and introduces students to all aspects of the Barbering field. Members are provided opportunities to attend educational seminars as well as participate in social events. Membership is open to all students enrolled in the Barbering programs at Savannah Technical College. Club
Career Services/Fairs Savannah Technical College’s Career Services program provides career literacy, career focused workshops career fairs and college fairs to the college’s student body. The Student Activities Council supports this Student-Centered project. Organization
Certified Nursing Aide (CNA)/Patient Care Technician (PCT) The CNA/PCT Club promotes the highest ideals of professionalism in the health care industry.   The purpose of the club is to actively participate in the promotion, development, and implementation of good health care.   Membership is open to students enrolled in the CNA and PCT programs. Club
Construction Management Student Association The Construction Management Student Association offers students the opportunities to explore new learning in the construction field. Students are assigned leadership positions which prepare them for the comprehensive job market. In addition, students develop interpersonal skills for group and team work settings.  Membership is open to all students enrolled in a construction related program at Savannah Technical College. Club
Cosmetology and Nail Technician The Cosmetology Club promotes professional development and introduces students to all aspects of the Cosmetology field. Members are provided opportunities to attend educational seminars as well as participate in social events. Membership is open to all students enrolled in the Cosmetology and Nail Technician programs at Savannah Technical College. Club
Dental Assisting The Dental Assisting Club promotes the highest ideals of professionalism in the dental community.   The purpose of the club is to actively participate in the promotion, development, and implementation of dental oral health.   Membership is open to students enrolled in the Dental Assisting or Dental Office Management programs. Club
Electrical Construction Club The Electrical Construction Club provides students with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of residential and commercial electrical industries. In addition, students are provided learning opportunities to develop academic, technical and professional knowledge as well as the skills required for job acquisition, retention and advancement.  Membership is open to students enrolled in any construction related program at Savannah Technical College Club
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Club The Emergency Medical Services Club promotes the highest ideals of professionalism in the paramedic and emergency services community.   The purpose of the club is identify, participate in and promote quality emergency services.   Membership is open to students enrolled in the Paramedic and Emergency Services programs. Club
English as a Second Language (ESOL) Book Club Savannah Technical College offers English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) as part of its learning support course offerings. The ESOL club was formulated to bring these and other students together to discover different cultures in a collegiate atmosphere.  All Savannah Technical college students are encouraged to join. Club
Financial Services Savannah Technical College’s Financial Services program provides financial literacy, financial aid workshops and more to the college’s student body. The Student Activities Council supports this Student-Centered project. Organization
Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership The Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) program seeks to give recognition annually to the State’s outstanding post-secondary technical students and to stimulate public interest in the importance of technical education. All associate degree and diploma program students who have completed one or more quarters at the time of nomination and have an overall, cumulative, technical college GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible to compete in the GOAL Program. Additionally, students must be in good academic standing with the college and have a work ethics grade of at least a “2” to qualify for nomination.  The College winner must be enrolled in the same program during the college nomination, the college-level selection process, and the state-level activities. Event
Graduation Savannah Technical College has three commencement ceremonies per year.  Two Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC) ceremonies in the Fall and the Spring and a large graduation ceremony for Degree, Diploma and GED graduates in the late Spring/Early Summer. These ceremonies applaud the hard work of the participating students . The Student Activities Council supports this Student-Centered project. Event
HOLA (Latin Club) The Hispanic community contributes in many ways in society today. That is why Savannah Technical College embraces the Hispanic culture and all ethnic backgrounds. The college has committed to increasing the Hispanic/Latino student population through the Hispanic Outreach and Leadership (HOLA) Program. The mission of the HOLA Program is to be a liaison between STC and the Hispanic/Latino students to increase the percentage of this community at Savannah Technical College through the process of enrollment, retention and graduation at a post-secondary level.  All STC students are invited to join the club. Historic Preservation Club The Historic Preservation club offers students the opportunities to explore new learning in the Historic Preservation field. Students are assigned leadership positions which prepare them for the comprehensive job market. In addition, students develop interpersonal skills for group and team work settings.  Membership is open to all students enrolled in the Historic Preservation program at Savannah Technical College. Club
Journey 2 Success (Accelerating Opportunities) The Journey 2 Success club offers students the opportunities to explore new learning about career choices, skill requirements, interpersonal and professional skills. Students are assigned leadership positions which prepare them for the comprehensive job market. In addition, students develop interpersonal skills for group and team work settings.  Membership is open to all Savannah Technical College students in the Accelerating Opportunities program. Club
Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX) Honor Society

(Paralegal Honor Society)

The Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX) Honor Society is a National Honor Society founded by the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAPE).  The purpose of LEX is to recognize students who have demonstrated superior academic performance in an established program of paralegal/legal assistant studies offered at an institution that is an AAPE Institutional member in good standing.  Savannah Technical College Paralegal students meeting the prescribed national criteria are inducted into LEX.  The Student Activities Council supports this Student-Centered project. Medical Assisting Club The Medical Assisting Club facilitates student relations and encourages students to stay abreast of changes in the Medical Assisting field.   The club provides learning opportunities that introduce, develop and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills and attitudes required for job acquisition. Club
National Technical Honor Society The National Vocational-Technical Honor Society (NVTHS) rewards excellence in workforce education, encourages students to reach higher levels of achievement, promotes honesty, responsibility, initiative, teamwork, leadership, citizenship, and scholarship. Organization
Paralegal Student Association The Paralegal Student Association steps beyond the classroom program to engage in activities centered around this career field.  The members are afforded the opportunity to work closely with attorneys, judges, prosecutors, or public defenders and perform a wide range of professional tasks, such as legal research, writing, interviewing, document preparation, and office management. Students are assigned leadership positions which prepare them for the comprehensive job market. In addition, students develop interpersonal skills for group and team work settings.  Membership is open to all Savannah Technical College students in the Paralegal  program. Club
Peace Officer Academy (POA) The Basic Law Enforcement program provides students with the necessary skills, standards, and knowledge in order to become qualified, proficiency trained, ethical and competent peace officers in criminal justice careers. Successful completion of the program enables the student to become eligible to be certified by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards Training Council (P.O.S.T.) as a Georgia Peace Officer.  Savannah Technical College’s Student Activities Council promotes this Student-Centered program. Phi Beta Lambda Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) brings business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development.    PBL is the national organization for all students in post-secondary schools and colleges enrolled in business, office, or teacher education programs. PBL is an integral part of the instructional program and promotes a sense of civic and personal responsibility. Club
Phi Theta Kappa The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recognizes and encourages scholarship among two-year college students. Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming. Organization
Practical Nursing Club – Liberty The Practical Nursing Club promotes and introduces the professional development and personal growth of the nursing students. Club activities include guest speakers, community service projects, and opportunities for leadership development. Membership is open to all full-time and part-time students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at Savannah Technical College. Club

Savannah Tech Automotive Club (STAC) The Savannah Tech Automotive Club is designed to prepare students for careers in the automotive industry. The club emphasizes well care of automobiles .   Club activities include speakers from industry, field trips to industry employers, and social events. Club
SkillsUSA SkillsUSA is an applied method for preparing America’s high performance workers in public careers and technical programs. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at work: high ethical standards, superior work skills, lifelong education, and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free enterprise system and encourages development of patriotism through the practice of democracy. It was formerly known as Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA).  Any Savannah Technical College student may participate in SkillsUSA. Event
Special Populations Savannah Technical College’s Special Populations program provides Special Populations literacy; Special Populations focused workshops, and other services to students of the college. The Student Activities Council supports this Student-Centered project. Organization
Student American Dental Hygienists Association (SADHA) The Student American Dental Hygienists Association (SADHA) promotes and introduces the professional development and personal growth of the Dental Hygiene students. Club activities include guest speakers, community service projects, and opportunities for leadership development. Membership is open to all students enrolled in the the Dental Hygiene program at Savannah Technical College. Club
(STC) Student Veterans Organization The primary mission of the Student Veterans Organization shall be to foster and develop a social network for student veterans and their families with the college. Work with other military veterans organizations to overall enhance benefits and services provided to the student veterans and their families. Provide a network and an atmosphere of fellowship and camaraderie for students with military service and future military service.  All students affiliated with a branch Club
Surgical Technology Club The Surgical Technology Club provides opportunities for members to enhance their experiences and knowledge in the surgical technology field. The club provides members with opportunities to contribute to the health and well-being of the community through projects and programs. Club
STC Crossroads Campus The Savannah Technical College Student Activities Council supports each campus of the college.  This support comes in the form of various activities and events that enrich the campus life of the students, faculty and staff at each campus.  Coordination of the various events and activities are done through the offices at each campus and executed through the Student Activities Council. Student Activity Council The Savannah Technical College Student Activities Council oversees the operation of all student centered clubs, organizations. And events. Savannah Technical College’s Student Activities Council is made up of a group of students from the various other clubs and organizations who represent the entire student body to the administration and other entities. The Student Activities Council provides the student body with a formal vehicle for communication with the administration, faculty, and staff; provides student representatives with the opportunity to serve in leadership roles; and encourages the opportunity for student involvement in institutional and community improvement projects.
