Our general education core courses for degree programs are included in the College's accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission on Colleges (COC) and consist of 30 hours in communication, reading comprehension, computation, writing, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. The general education core courses for diploma and certificate of credit programs have been approved by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG).

Over 200 general education and learning support courses are offered at our Savannah, Liberty, and Effingham Campuses and the general education courses are offered online and are included in the statewide network of Georgia Virtual Technical College (GVTC). A growing selection of courses are offered to our students in the new Weekend College Studies Program where classes are in a hybrid format; students go to class only five Saturdays during the quarter and meet the remaining class requirements online.
