Financial Aid Refunds
If the total of your financial aid is more than your direct tuition and mandatory fee charges for the semester, approximately four (4) weeks after the start of the semester, you will receive a financial aid refund.
After the drop/add period and once attendance/enrollment is confirmed (approximately the second week of the semester), the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Georgia Student Finance Commission will electronically transfer funding to Savannah Tech to be applied to each student's account.
Once those funds are applied and each account is evaluated to determine the amount of refund due the student, a refund will be issued to the student. Federal regulations allow the college 14 calendar days to issue a refund of excess financial aid.
This means that STC will begin issuing excess financial aid refunds approximately four (4) weeks after the start of the semester. Refunds will continue to be issued through out the semester as funding is received from the Department of Education and GA Student Finance Commission.

Reloadable Savannah Tech debit cards will be issued to students in lieu of checks for financial aid refunds.
Make sure your mailing address is up-to-date. Please stop by the Student Affairs One Stop as soon as possible and update your mailing address.
The SunTrust Debit Card is mailed
in a non-descript white envelope to the most current address we have on file. DO NOT THROW IT AWAY. When you receive the debit card, call the number on the card to activate it right away. Keep this card safe and do not throw it away. There will be a charge for lost or discarded cards.
The prepaid card will be accepted anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including for cash at an ATM. Each time you use your card, the value will be reduced by the amount of the purchase until the value is zero.
If you wish to receive a check instead of the reloadable debit card, please download, complete, and submit to the Cashier's Office at the Campus Shop the Debit Card Opt-Out/Opt-In Request form.
