The key to the economic vitality of a region is education. With the Grand Opening and Dedication of the Effingham Campus of Savannah Technical College, opportunities abound for business, industry, and Effingham County residents. The incredible community support has helped make this day possible. This beautiful new facility will help Savannah Tech increase enrollment and meet the education and training demands for area employers for a skilled workforce, which is critical to the success of the economic development of this growing community. Our campus is equipped to offer new instructional programs in technologically inspired classrooms and lab spaces with market-relevant equipment and training materials. This will afford the residents of Effingham County access to programs and services without having to commute into Savannah.
We are currently offering nine programs of study including an associate degree in Management/Supervisory Development, a diploma in Business Office Technology, and certificates in Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Medical Billing Specialist, Medical Office Clerk, Basic Computer Support Technician, Industrial Production Line and Basic Mechanical Operator.
The Effingham Campus of Savannah Technical College is committed to meeting our community needs and it is a privilege to be able to offer excellent educational and career opportunities for the citizens of Effingham County.
We also offer a Technical Communications Specialist certificate which consists of 49 credit hours of instruction and is designed to prepare students for jobs that require written and oral communication skills along with the technical proficiency to translate technical information to various audiences. This program serves as a stand-alone career path or as a supplemental area of expertise taken in concert with another program of study. This sequence of classes encompasses the traditional core classes required of associate and baccalaureate study, enabling much of the curriculum to transfer to area colleges and universities. After the completion of a needs assessment survey, more programs will be added and will be designed to meet the needs of area business and industry.
