Administrative Review
A violation of the Student Code of Conduct and non-academic complaints will be resolved through an administrative review conducted by the Vice President of Student Success (VPSS) or designee and begins upon notification of the conduct infraction or compliant and may extend up to five (5) working days. The administrative review consists of investigating the violation or complaint and conducting two (2) conferences with the student. The purpose of the initial conference is to gather information and get the student’s input. The second is to render a decision, to provide the student with an Administrative Report Form for signing, and to inform student of the appeals process involving the Hearing Committee. If the student requests a hearing, the Vice President will determine if the student will continue to attend classes until decision is made by the Hearing Committee and will refer the request to the Hearing Committee Chair. The student will be given a copy of the Administrative Report.

Hearing Procedures
  1. A student, who is dissatisfied with the decision of the VPSS, has 48 hours to request a hearing. Upon receiving written notification from the student, the VPSS will notify the Hearing Committee Chair of the request. The student will then be notified in writing of the hearing date, time, and place. Written notification will be delivered in person or by certified mail.
  2. The Hearing Committee Chair will convene the committee within five (5) working days after receiving the hearing request.
  3. During the hearing, both student and VPSS or designee may provide the Hearing Committee with reports, documentation, and witnesses, if desired, concerning the code of conduct violation or non-academic complaint.
  4. The student may also be accompanied by an advisor who is a member of the college community. Advisors are not attorneys. The advisor’s role is limited to providing support and consultation; the advisor may not actively participate in the hearing.
  5. The student will be notified in writing of the decision of the Hearing Committee.
  6. Any further appeal by student must be made in writing to the Executive Vice President, within 48 hours after receiving the decision of the Hearing Committee.
  7. The written appeal request and information from the hearing proceedings will be submitted to the Executive Vice President for review
  8. The decision made by the Executive Vice President will be final.
  9. If student is reinstated into class/college, he/she will be required to make up any missed assignments, tests, or other class work.
  10. Written documentation of the hearing proceedings will be a part of the Hearing Committee Records.
