Services for Students with Disabilities

Savannah Technical College's Office of Disability Services is committed to working with students to assist with program accessibility and academic accommodations that may be necessary and appropriate due to their disability. Students who have a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major life activities are eligible for services.

The disabilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Visual Impairment
  • Mobility Impairment
  • Learning Disability
  • Attention Deficit Disorder
  • Psychological Disorder
  • Acquired Brain Injuries
  • Other Health Impairment
To be eligible for these services you must:
  • Self-identify at the Office of Disability Services
  • Participate in an intake interview with the Coordinator of Disability Services to determine needs and accommodations.
  • Provide appropriate documentation of the disability which supports the accommodations requested.
Accommodations are determined on an individual basis, based on the documentation provided and the interview with the student.

It is important to realize that the intake, documentation review and arrangements for accommodations can be a lengthy process. We urge students who believe they may be eligible to contact our office well in advance of their enrollment to apply for services.
