For Students Seeking a Degree or Diploma
1. Student completes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or www.GAcollege411.org. Our Title IV School Code is 005618. Instructions on how to complete this form are included on the application.

2. The FAFSA processing center generates a Student Aid Report (SAR). Upon receipt, you should carefully review the SAR to verify the accuracy of the submitted information. All pages of the SAR must be submitted to the Student Success Center at Savannah Technical College.

a. If the FAFSA form is completed online, you should receive a SAR Information Acknowledgement in the mail about two weeks after submitting the online FAFSA. If an e-mail address was provided, the SAR will be e-mailed to you.

b. If the FAFSA form is mailed, you should receive a SAR from the federal processing center in about four to six weeks.

3. If you have been selected for verification, you will be contacted by the institution and asked to complete a Verification Worksheet and submit it with a signed copy of your prior year's tax return (if you filed), as well as your parent's signed return, if you are a dependent student, or your spouse's signed return, if you are married. Additional documentation may be required in some cases.

4. The federal student aid form must be completed when seeking Pell and/or HOPE funds. Pell, HOPE Grant, and HOPE Scholarship award amounts are based on the number of enrolled credit hours at the time of registration. If your credit hours change after registration, the financial aid award amount is also subject to change.



For Students Seeking a Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC)
1. Students enrolling in a certificate program must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or www.GAcollege411.org to utilize Georgia HOPE Grant funds. Our Title IV School Code is 005618. Instructions on how to complete this form are included on the application.

4. The federal student aid form must be completed to utilize HOPE funds for certificate programs. The HOPE Grant awards funds for tuition, partial fees, and book allowance and is based on the number of enrolled credit hours at the time of registration. If your credit hours change after registration, the grant award amount will also change, including the book allowance.
