Applicants must be at least 16 years of age for all programs. Applicants for Cosmetology and Allied Health must be 17 years of age or older.

Education
A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) Diploma is required for all associate degree programs and for most diploma and certificate programs.
Some diploma and certificate programs do not require completion of high school or GED for program admission; however, all diploma programs require completion of high school or GED prior to program graduation.
Competitive Admissions
Each program has its own process for determining program admission from among the qualified applicants.
A competitive admissions process has been implemented for Cosmetology and some Allied Health programs. All applicants must first meet state standard minimum requirements for admission and then be referred to the individual programs.

Placement Tests
Program placement testing may be waived if one or more of the following criteria are met:
Placement test scores are used to determine program readiness by evaluating reading, writing, and math skills. A student with prior college credit must request a review and evaluation of their college transcript(s) prior to placement testing so that transferable credits may be determined. Once a student takes the ASSET/COMPASS test, program readiness will be based on the assessed results and the review of a college transcript will no longer be a program placement option.
- Completed transferable English and Math courses with grades of "C" or higher. These courses must be equivalent to the entry level English and Math courses required in the applicant's chosen program of study.
- SAT scores meet or exceed:
- Verbal 430 & Math 400 for diploma programs
- Verbal 460 & Math 440 for degree programs
- For scores after March 2006:
- Critical Reading 430 & Math 400 for diploma programs
- Critical Reading 460 & Math 440 for degree programs
- ACT scores meet or exceed:
- Verbal 18 & Math 16 for diploma programs
- Verbal 20 & Math 18 for degree programs
- For Surgical Technology programs, scores must meet or exceed:
- Verbal 24 & Math 20
