Types of Program Admissions

The ASSET/COMPASS test results are used to determine the student's program readiness by evaluating reading, writing, and math skills status. The Standardized Aptitude Test (SAT), the American College Test (ACT), and College Placement Exam (CPE) may also be used for program placement.

A student may exempt the placement exam by requesting a review and evaluation of a college transcript prior to taking the ASSET/COMPASS placement exam so that transferable credit(s) and program placement status can be determined. Below are the various types of program admission.
  1. Regular Admission is granted to students who require no learning support courses and may enroll in the courses designated for their selected program.
  2. Provisional Admission is granted to students who are required to complete learning support courses in one level of English, Math, or Reading. Provisional students may also enroll in courses designated by their specific program of study.
  3. Learning Support Admission is granted to students who are required to complete two or more levels in English, Math, or Reading. Students in this category are eligible to enroll in learning support courses only.
Note: All students must achieve regular admission status prior to graduation.
